Firestone Wide Oval tires can tell by location of the red or white stripe

You think those might be coming out of Los Angeles since that's some of the area of Southern Pacific Railroad?.....Joe

Not in 1967. As far as I know, 67 Firebird's were built in Lordstown. I believe Van Nuys started building them in 68.

Joe the Saying of the Railroad Car distribution managers was:
"Next Load ANY-ROAD"

as in any Available empty Road Name (i.e. Railroad).

There was a somewhat of an Obligation to Load any Foreign Road MT's to produce a mileage Billable lading vice returning it EMPTY to the Home (i.e. Owning Road)

Imports from Long Beach (Eastbound) to Midwest and Domestics from Midwest to Westcoast, Money Money Both Directions.

I thought we had a cool thread on Railcar loaded with "Muscle Cars-ish"

Ever think about that name wide OVAL - what an odd bit of marketing. At a time when tires were not really known for great quality overall to name a tire an OVAL not round is an interesting choice of words

They were referring to the cross section, not the circumference.
