About five years ago driving home
From work I gave an elderly man a ride. He had an old fashion suit case and was clean dressed. It was early winter and probably in the 40’s. He said he was from Australia and had been on a walk about across America since April. He said he flew into New York and went across the northern tier states to Oregon then down the west coast. Across the desert southwest to Alabama, up to Ky. and was heading back to New York to a flight home. All hitch hiking and not a bus or train ride at all. He told me he was a Christian and trusted that God would see him through to safety at every turn. He said Ky. was the prettiest state of all he’d been in. The reason I picked him up was as he stood there he had praying hands together under his chin looking at cars go by. That gesture touched me.
