I've got a '86 wide track 44 rear. Yes, it's rare, and had a jeep 'expert' get a little angry and insistent that it was never made....until he looked beyond his nose. It's matched with a wide track 30 up front.
Had to edit that, it's an '86 44, on a '80 cj5 frame, shortened to fit a '70 body, '72 pedals, and chevy sb.......confusing. Last edited by cheveslakr; 11-28-2024 at 08:17 PM. |

A good jeep guy I know in New Haven told me always buy the last year of the run they splurge on the parts for That last year. I bought my daughter a 84 cj7 w glass body and a 400 HP small block. And the rear had issues. Turns out they had the block in it w the aftermaket axles. That’s a no no it puts pre load pressure on the axle bearings but I had found a set of these axles when I was looking. . I fixed what I had but kinda wish I’d grabbed them Now.
