Yes, him and my father were very good friends and they did a lot of construction projects together. I still remember the night that my dad got the call from Paul Nichter telling him about what had just happened with the car on the scajaquada expressway .

Mr Nichters mechanic and friend took the 1967 cobra out on a test ride on a Saturday night leaving from their construction shop on the west side of Buffalo along the Niagara river , they took the scajaquada expressway eastbound , they only made it a couple miles and we’re traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control rolling it over into a concrete abutment along the side of the expressway near Grant Street and both guys were killed . This was 1969

Here’s a couple pictures of the 69 black Boss 429 that started at a Rochester New York Dealership , then came to Buffalo and was sold out of Delaware sports car on Delaware Avenue in the early 70s. The car ended up in Elma New York purchased by a friend of mine named Charlie , eventually the car disappeared around 1978 for a while . Resurfaced about a year later and another friend of mine took possession and kept it for over 30 years

Do you remember the CSX on that car? Buffalo had a ton of cobras. I might post those some day.

I’m not 100% sure on the story but I believe he gave it to 2 of his friends to go out driving with in the south towns in Buffalo and the car crashed into a concrete pillar of some kind and burst into flames. CSX3326 was his and the parts they could take from the wreck went into its brother car CSX3327 in its later restoration. Sad story but it goes to show how careful you must be when dealing with these high power tiny cars.
