Super easy to tell on Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread tires.
67 type has "NF NYLON" and no DOT. 68 type has "LOAD RANGE B" with DOT. Repops are 68 type. Got really familiar with this difference in 1990. Put a set of 5 F70X14 redlines together for a nice original 67 Chevelle SS396. Had it's new condition spare on a DG wheel so I matched the other 4 to it. The "load range B" type was way more common. Not really sure about exact dates of change but the tires I bought were all spare tires from other 67's. 68's had the load range B type. Could be overlaps of course but that is what I encountered. |
