Yes - very few of those hoods survived. Here is a picture of a stinger hood on a 67 Yenko Camaro. This car did not have a stinger installed at delivery, but it was added in late 1968 or early 1969. Probably the same type that was installed by Yenko (or their sub-contractor). By the way - a lot of this info should be credited to JoeC, Doug P, and Matt N. You can see how weak the hood was - even the hood hinge threadserts would pull out.
