Took the car to the local 1/8 mile track on Thursday night to practice for my "big" 1/4 mile outing on Sunday 10/22, and I'm sure glad I did. Got three runs and could only muster a 1.90 60' leaving at 4,000rpm with 13psi in the tires. These are M&H "Muscle Car DOT Slicks". They definitely bite, I'm running them with tubes. Car ran 8.04 at 90.4mph. Some adjustable shocks are in order to keep the weight on the rear tires. If I can get the 60' in the 1.70s I should hopefully be in the 11s in the 1/4. Not bad for a full weight 3.55 geared 4 speed street brawler.

I also found a clean Edelbrock Tarantula TM2-O intake which should help add some RPM on the top end, unfortunately I won't have it on by this weekend. I think the 496 needs a little more plenum than the Torker has to offer... will pair with a 1" phenolic spacer to keep the classic 70s look.
