The NP205 is about the best transfer case ever built for light weight vehicles. No chain and no front drive unless in 4WH, 4WL. Parts and service are still widely available too, where the Rockwell may not be as much.

What Mitch said! In my long ago life as a dealer driveline tech opening up a 205 was rare, unlike the chain driven 203's.
