If you get stuck, let me know. I have a client that rebuilt many many smog pumps through the 70, 80's and I'm sure he could track that bearing down (or one that will work correctly)

Thanks again guys...the members on this site are awesome. Found a suitable rear bearing and should be here in a few days. I've de-vaned 2 or 3 of these pumps in the past, always replaced the front sealed bearing, but was always able to clean and re-use the large rear bearing...not so with my L78 pump, so this is new territory.
BTW, regardless of mfgr, the B248 style bearing is only rated for 4300 rpm if grease is used as the lubricant...seems kinda low but then again, I haven't compared the pump pulley to the crank pulley...yet. Thanks again!
