| original 396 open element air cleaner assembly

Hi sYc Friends, I have the pictured original open element air cleaner set up as shown. Chrome is not good and barely driver quality - there's slight rust on it and it's pitted / gone through the chrome, with what looks like fire / heat damage / discoloration - I didn't rub or buff it; wanted it as-is for the next caretaker. No silk screened script on the underside of the lid that I can see, but based on the patina and actual shape of the curves, it seems genuine to me. Includes an old BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR ENGINE - REPLACE WITH AC TYPE A212CW element - not the square mesh or embossed one - but a likely OTC parts replacement one - diamond twisted welded wire - yellow filter paper - and very dirty, only for show IMHO. Unrestored of course with some paint missing from a presumed carb fire a long time ago. Could be a great candidate for survivor engine bay - flattened breather mesh. 50.00 PPG plus shipping. Nice wall hanger maybe. Thanks all, Anthony |
