As I recall , that wheel was an Option on the trans am. I’m
Mainly more info RAIV birds myself because of the colors but have seen that wheel in other 69 trans ams |

Per Rocky Rotella’s “Definitive Firebird and Trans Am Guide 1967-1969” the Forumula steering wheel was in development all during 1969 but not released until September ‘69.

I had a 69 RA4 TA automatic, matching #'s very rare, i still have a copy of my NY regi and original build sheet, it states formula wheel, and the rarest part of the wheel was the horn emblem! it was a amfm / deluxe interior. Sold it after a bad resto, plus when it was media blasted it looked like the quarters were in a machine gun fight! sold about 2006, who knows but every car I bought I drove and purchased because I wanted it and knew they were special, not as an investment, now i am much older and still crazy!! |
