It could have been flooded by Sandy, but I think it was sitting, derelect even then. Probably a coastal car left to rot close to the ocean. Must have had the hood left up for the salt air to get at the engine. All the rust is on the top.
And the one pic has the windshield in the back seat. That would account for the severely rusted dash and all the rust crumbles on the console. That radio may be missing most of what's behind the dash face...
