It does seem odd that the salesman would talk you out of it. Rotary compressors have become the go-to in home A/C. Ours is 20 years old and sits idle for 8-9 months of the year. Still works great.

Now that I said that... I made a comment about our 2007 TSX a couple weeks ago and shortly thereafter, the O2 sensors went out...
