My uncle John’s Heavy Chevy Chevelle he bought brand new. The snot nosed kid in the front seat is me. He owned it only a short time before a street race gone really bad. He survived the horrific crash going over 100mph and hitting an overhead train support pillar on Westchester ave in Bronx NY one night. Car was torn in half and he was ejected, not wear any belts. Spent months in hospital but made a full recovery, although horrible facial scars. He was my hero and the reason for my muscle car passion. He passed in early 90’s. The 70 Chevelle convertible he also bought brand new. SS 454 I wish I knew which version 454 it was. He was in Vietnam and told my aunt to go buy a new 70 Chevelle SS 454, he was pissed she bought a convertible and sold it to someone on Long Island soon after returning stateside and bought the Heavy Chevy Chevelle instead. Crazy but super fun memories for me. Rob

First car 73 Z28 , picture is me at 15 in April 1979 trying to wash rust off rear quarter panel . My dad replaced rear clip in 2 1/2 car garage at home . Cut windshield post and floor pan ahead of front seats an welded mint rear clip found at local wrecking yard to eliminate rust . My job was block sanding , sweeping etc . Had local body shop paint in original color brown lacquer and it looked like new car . Drove 73 Z for about a year till I talked my dad out of 70 Z28 he found around the time we finished the 73 . If he could sell 73 for enough he would sell me the 70 Z . Drove 70 through most of senior year HS and still have 42 years later . Amazing that it survived unscathed after many very close calls .
