[QUOTE=67since67;1595626] Found these upstairs while gathering bolts.

Bill,

I had a laugh when I saw “gathering bolts”.

Every time a box is delivered for me, the wife says ….. more nuts and bolts.

Not only did I score tons of awesome / cheap GTO parts from wrecking yards in the 70’s - 80’s, I stuffed my pockets with OEM nuts and bolts from those cars.
These small, but very important items make the difference in an old car.

So, I have quite a stash of factory bolts.

Chris

Well Chris, when this current project was blown apart for it's first "Restoration" 20 years ago 2/3 of the original fasteners didn't make it back on the car, even though all the important numbers correct and scarce small parts are intact. So spending a few hours blasting bolts and j-nuts for parkerizing. Always good to have spares on hand too! - Bill W

Bill,
May I ask what "Parkerizing" is? I have never heard that term before.
Thanks, Bill

Parkerizing aka phosphate plating Bill.

Many restorers do that themselves, but there is a gun restorer near me that does a great job, quickly and low cost enough I can't afford to fool with it myself.
