When they finally brought it back, in the mornings for some reason, calling it a cars and coffee deal. We already have a dozen of those every week so that wasn't going to work. Especially for those like me that drive 2 hours to get there. Not driving 4 hours round trip for something that only lasts an hour or two. It had me going to 67th and Bell for a while instead. Now, from what I understand McDonalds doesn't have anything to do with it anymore. Since it's on reservation land that complicated things, but someone stepped up and is running it now on their behalf I believe. It's actually better than before in the fact that I really like the Wolf Man Jack impersonator that is doing the music live every Saturday night. Cracks me up and brings back a lot of memories. But hopefully they lax a bit on the hour thing, it sure makes it tough for us long haulers. |

Yes, McDonalds ownership changed hands again and the new owner wants nothing to do with the cruise. A long standing agreement with the Salt River Tribal Council and McDonalds was not renewed and a new one was drawn up with the landlord. Since then, McDonalds won’t let us use their red trash cans, the yellow show signs, will not play music from their speakers, and for a time period, would not let us use the bathrooms. McDonalds seems to be warming up to us a little, but the seating areas in the dining room are closed off. We can use the bathrooms now.
The landlord, Deritta Bros, has since taken ownership of the cruise at the request of the other Pavilions tenants. They hired a car show manager to run the cruises. The morning cruise during the summer was a tribal council request. Lots of other mandates we had to follow were from the tribal council. Many have been relaxed. But the 8 PM ending is enforced because of the shenanigans that sometimes occur when some people leave Pavilions. Tribal police are able to perform enforcement at that time. It seems enforcement is more difficult later in the evening. Might have something to do with the nearby casino. Pavilions is on tribal land and we must follow their rules. If they are OK with the extended cruise hours during auction week, then we’ll be good. We still arrive early as we did in the past. We support the other restaurants at Pavilions that support the cruise. The only change that is going to stick will be the relocation of Corvette row from the front lot to the rear lot. Last I heard, there will be no morning cruises during the summer. I’m sure there is more to share, but I’m exhausted.

Thanks Rick,
I find it funny how McD's doesn't want anything to do with it, no trash cans, signs, and were even stingy about the rest rooms for a while, yet they don't mind the business we bring in LOL I always walk over to Barro's and grab a pizza anyway. |

It's my sons favorite and he's always with me so when dinner time gets close it's the first thing he'll ask. Sometimes he'll mention it before we even leave the house, lol.
