I don't want to rain on your parade and I do love watching Mecum auctions (the head auctioneer - Jimmy Landis - is from my area...my wife used to work at the same auction he did).
I was interested in a 1967 Chevelle SS 396 (Atlanta build) in the Eddie Vannoy Collection last summer 2020. I called Mecum and spoke with the contact for Mecum about bidding on the car, etc. I was disappointed that Mecum usually doesn't take photos of the undercarriage (but they might if you ask them to). No luck in my case.
As it turned out, the Chevelle went for $90,000!!! Bidders at auctions can sometimes go insane, is all I can say. Nice car, but not worth those kind of dollars.
So, just be carefull and make sure you are getting what you might very well overpay for!
Good luck though,
John
