So my Jr. Partner has an opportunity to buy his uncles 1967 Corvette. His uncle is the 2nd owner and has all of the paperwork from the original owner. It is also an Auto car.
It is just a 327 car, but is an original red on red car. Supposedly the only thing he has done is repaint it and change the vert top to beige (but kept the original black top). Is also has its original red hardtop. His uncle wants him to underprice it, but he wants to do something fair. They agreed on 20% under market value with the caveat that Jason (my Jr Partner in the company) does not sell it unless it goes to another family member, with the same restrictions. Right now, based on what I am hearing, it is 100% original other than battery and alternator, single repaint and the top change. What do you guys think, with this single pic? Just trying to help him get to a fair price with his uncle. ![]() Thanks, /Rich

Without knowing the horsepower or trans type it’s tough to peg. I’d have to say any nice ‘67 Roadster with a hardtop is around $60,000.

Its an Auto. Not sure on HP, so lets say the lowest. Supposedly the sidepipes are orig? Could you get pipes on the low end 327?

In my opinion, the auto doesn’t help in terms of value, but there are those that disagree. And, I don’t care for sidepipies…so much for opinions, huh? The sidepipes aren’t as rare as most people think, but again, some people love ‘em. Base engine for ‘67 was 300hp and I seem to remember you could get the side exhaust with any engine.

With the automatic it has to be a 300 horse and could not have factory sidepipes.

Only going from memory, but I think the Auto Trans was available with any hydraulic lifter engine for 1967 Corvettes. And again from the ol’ memory bank, I think side exhaust was available across the board relating to engine choice. Haven’t played with mid-years in quite a while, so there could be some rust on the brain gears.

I don’t think you could get an automatic with an L-79? I’m sure others will chime in.

If it's an auto, then it is a 300 HP car. Being a red on red car is a big plus. If he wants to under price it a bit then I would say 50K sounds about right.

----I would say retail price is around $60,000 to 65,000. ----Nice clean 67 and if it had AC I would say another $5,000. ----Sidepipes were available on 300hp cars but it would have been pretty rare. Way more possible that they were added. Easy enough to tell.....Bill S Last edited by olredalert; 12-18-2021 at 04:05 PM. |
