I met john in the late 90’s at a Ncrs chapter meeting while he was outside smoking, I had no idea who he was, I asked him what he did for a living, he replied with some long title with plant manager and laughed, I said what does that mean, he replies, I have the keys to the viper plant, next question was do you own one? Why would I do that? A true Chevy guy to the core.

A few years later he had the Ncrs guys out to his garage mahal, the 69 Camaro, 67 vette and an import were there. On the wall is a viper intake manifold, I asked what the story was on it, he says, that is scrap and I have a receipt for it from Chrysler

He always had the right answer for any question somebody would ask him

----A while after that day at John's shop. I called him to ask if I could take some detail pics of his Z. He was so gracious and the pics were very important. He is missed!....Bill S

John was an amazing person and his contribution to our hobby is immense. He dispelled many misconceptions and myths. He is sorely missed!

I'm glad to hear that.

My career path sort of paralleled John's, except on a 10 year delay (and with the truck group), so I felt a kindred spirit there.
