The block looks pretty good from what I can tell, I'd get a spare head or oil pan and mess around trying to make it look aged like the block. I've read articles about it being done before but I've never tried it myself.

A light dusting would be perfect to at least try and replicate the survivor look.

A couple of experiments with Chevy Orange, some black (dusting each) and then following up with a scuff pad........this is what I came up with.

I think once it gets some heat cycles in it (as well as covered up by manifolds, water pump, shielding, etc.) it should fit in with the rest of the car.

And look what FedEx brought today

By gawd, that engine looks 100% better than all that bare cast. It looked rebuilt and unpainted prior.

A bit of salt water in a spray bottle works well, Tim. Try it and reapply as needed.

Looks good, Tim. Fuel pump plate should be black.

That looks great Tim! Can't wait to see what it looks like when you get it back in the car and get a couple hundred miles on it.

I started to make the plug wires and screw it together today. Waiting on different terminal ends for the distributor side of the wires (wasn't impressed with what came in the set).

I've got to dig through my collection of junk shielding to see what I have for the plug shielding. I just laid the F.I. unit on there for now

Starting to look like nothing ever happened
