#159 This 69 Yenko Chevelle is B356260 and was sold new at Friedly Chevy Olds in Cedar Falls IA. It is 1 of 2 Dover White Yenko Chevelles that I know of that still exist. It was found by Carl Dwiggins in the 80's and restored. The console and cowl plenum were added when it was restored. It was featured in the November '88 issue of Car Craft. Reggie Jackson had it at Mecum Indy in '18 where it was bid to $310K. According to the auction writeup it has a CE block.

From the very informed members here I learned that Friedley sold four Yenko Chevelles (three of which are alive today) and, I believe, seven Camaros. Sometime in the spring/summer of 1969 I happened to be across University Ave. from the dealership while a transport was unloading Yenko cars, and later seeing a row of them on the lot. In 1975 I passed on the chance to buy the Lemans Blue Friedley Chevelle for $2,500 asking. By then it was looking a bit tired. Thank you for this fine thread!! Bill W |
