I paid $400 for the last two kits including one kit bought through Yenko and the other off eBay. I have also seen a few others sold on sYc for that kind of money in recent years if complete and in good shape. The inside paper on the last version I had was the 2nd design carton (Black Hurst Box) was dated 76 on the revised paperwork. FWIW, the one I just bought from eBay last summer is dated 1969 on the internal paperwork and has a second instruction sheet (shown below) which is dated 1968. Both sets of 68/69 instructions show this small style solenoid in use. I cannot say when it was produced for certain, but I always thought very early 70's at the latest, and the packaging is also consistent with the one shown on Ken B's ZL-1 which was apparently built using 69 dated parts? The only thing different was the solenoid model and the same holds true with Grady's 69 Copo. Not exactly sure when they changed the solenoid style but everything else in the carton including the internal packaging is identical to the one I have now and it is in fact dated 1969. Maybe those kits with the larger solenoid were earlier stock and it was still available in some of the speed shops a couple of years later? Like older stock? The paper in this kit is all dated 68/69 and clearly shows the small solenoid so I kind of rest my case with that.
And yes, prices are on the rise recently. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
