This Corvette usually gets bid up to the mid forties, doesn’t meet reserve, and has been relisted many times. As you mentioned Tony, it has some noticeable local issues like the localized fibreglass repairs and the key scratches to the door. Overall, I would still be thrilled to drive this car. Driving a big block Corvette wearing mostly original paint in this stunning color combination would be fantastic! Given the paint issues (and the fresh paint under the hood, the addition of side exhaust, etc.) perhaps this car not truly a survivor, but why the lack of interest?
I find it odd that the gas tank has been replaced due to rust? The description also says that there is “surface rusting throughout the frame, however there is no body work and no frame damage (all original bonding strips are intact).” Looking at the underside photos, I don’t see anything too intimidating, although I’d want to have someone look at it in person. What do you Corvette guys think? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/124468234425 What am I missing? Last edited by L78M22Rag; 12-05-2020 at 08:19 PM. |

Maybe if it was in a sealed garage... Nothing about that frame etc. looks like it's been subjected to salt IMO. Cement floor moisture maybe.
