Years ago, I had a 73 gremlin for a beater to store away my TA fir the winter, it ticked so loud it was unreal, I took the valve cover off the straight six, the vale train was filled completely with sludge. Scooped it all out, put Rislone in my oil, changed the oil like 5 times after, the tick was gone.
I’ve also had a donut leak that sounded like the valves.
