The owner of the car is Alex Manz the former president of the Mid Ohio Camaro Club. The story is 100% true. The car was restored with a glide because the people doing the restoration could not find parts. for the TD.
Alex stepped up and did the heavy lifting to fix the original transmission. Yes $3000 was the cost. There is a devastating personal back story to the reasons for the sale that I would not wish on any member of this board, so why not just take a breath before you guys bash the car or debate if you think it is desirable or rare? |

I currently work in the old Heffner Chevrolet building at 500 E. State Blvd. The building is falling down around us but always cool to see an old Heffner car show up. Every so often someone will come in that worked there back in the muscle car days. They almost always have a story or to two to tell about the good old days. Some of the more interesting were a LS6 engine being liberated from the car while parked behind the building over a weekend. A 427 found it's way into a '69 Z28, warranty engines not always making it back to GM and lots of "government work" going on in the service dept. How much is true, I have no idea but the stories are always interesting.
