I appreciate your responses. l'll start shuffling through old papers to get the platoon number and go from there. I kinda remember on the Island sending back home a brochure of sorts from the chaplain saying; "we were doing well in training and there would not be too much correspondence coming back from the recruits for a bit." Funny, but after many years, I can still remember the 3 DIs and their names. They were hard mudder flubbers to say the least, but after graduating from Basic Training on the island, as I was leaving the Island, I had tears in my eyes. The drill instructors were hard as nails, but they definitely woke my rear end up in a very quick and positive sense. Thanks gentlemen!! Ted Ted |
