It works. I've saved several batteries that couldn't even hold a charge. Won't fix them all, but will many.

Back in the day we used to use the Delco Eye cap and just hit it with palm of your hand and knock the plugs in,

I will second your point Kurt. These chargers are the chit! I've had batteries last 10 years with this technology. We used to handle these at NAPA years ago. If I remember correctly, this was developed for the military or by the military.

Either way, they extend the life of a battery and can revive them as well.

$740.00 sounds like a lot - but I have spent 5x that much on batteries the last few years.
