What's with those hexagon billet tie rod sleeves on a restored car?

Page two of the MacNeish report is not shown. It usually tells you Vehicle Component Issues, Original Components and Options. Missing parts are $$$ to replace with authentic pieces. If you're in to that kind of thing.

I have used those before. I think I have a set to put on my Z. They really don't bother me, as they can be swapped back out in short order. They do stiffen up the steering a bit. Given how these cars feel compared to a modern car, every little bit helps.

Hopefully they saved the originals.
