I have made a couple attempts to install the repaired trans.... I am having a battle.

I can get it so the face of the trans is about an inch from the bell housing but can go further. I had Amy pushing the clutch many times to try to help it move into place.... I used longer bolts to help square it up (not cranking hard on them) but it doesn’t want to go.

I pulled it mostly back out and will drop it down and check the pilot bushing.... maybe I burred it up?

I think the issue is alignment but TBD.

I need to get the car in working order as I have coordinated a date and time for a photo shoot for an article in Bone Stock and Modified Muscle Cars.

My family are all home, the Stagers and the photographer are all lined up.... like herding cats!!!

I have a plastic alignment tool, wish I had a steel input shaft handy.

Ryan -- don't know if this is the issue, but I have had issues with the plastic alignment tools also. I have used the following to ease installation. Before tightening clutch cover, push the alignment tool slightly upward -- seems the weight of the clutch disc on the plastic tends to cause alignment issues. This has worked for me in the past ... good luck! ... Craig
