Since the RS grilles did not change from 70-73, the emblem placement remained unchanged as well. Here's a pic of a survivor 1100 mile 70 RS/Z28 previously owned by Charley L...which coincidentally matches the'72 brochure photo posted by Lee

I remember doing a lot of research to verify placement on my car and mine is in the exact same place as the above pictures.

Looks like third horizontal beam down and third vertical beam from the right is center of the Z which doesn't look the same as the brochure for some reason.
Not sure this holds for 73 as didn't they have larger openings in the grill?
