Prior to 1971 there was no requirement for nor was there required standardization of any tire or date coding amongst manufacturers so the tires could have been manufactured in 1969. I wonder what some of the small letter Firestone wide ovals (not reproduced and available during the time period) have for coding?
Steve your tires were DOT marked, correct? Tim is your tire DOT marked?

Three original Firestones for my 1973 Z/28 have 043 codes.
My car was built 02A so a 4th week of week '73 tire for a 1st week of Feb car seems to line up pretty good... I toasted and tossed my two rear tires in the 90's so I have no idea what codes were on them...
