Default Did GM ever manufacture

Regarding factory welded GM oil pans for the Mark IV Big Block Chevy, yes, they were manufactured for sale by GM with a GM part # 3879633 with a oil pan windage tray #3879640 in their performance parts/off road catalog back in the day ( 1960's ). I do know that the upper part of the pan resembles an early Impala (B-body) oil pan for the 396-427 engines but I do not know where the lower welded sump came from and if GM manufactured the pans themselves or had some other oil pan manufacturer weld them up for GM. Don.

Yes i had 3 of these 633 oil pans. Could be purchased at the Chevy dealers over the counter. I had one pan with correct oil pump and long screen, and curved windage tray. Very rare to find these with the complete package. Grumpy Jenkins used these on his 67 Camaro 396-375 horsepower stock eliminator setup. These pans fit 67-69 Camaros, 68-72 Novas.
