If you spray the rim with oven cleaner it will take the black spray bomb paint off that.

Oh, yeah?! Any brand or type preferred? Leave it set or wax on / wax off?

You can likely tell I tried a few years ago to clean it off, but used something a little too strong and started going through the HO, so I stopped.

Let me know how to do it / what's succeeded in the past and I'll attempt it.
