----Don't know how I missed this thread. I bought a very similar 1970 LT-1 new in January of 1970. All pretty much the same except deluxe gut, color and all. Had 4;11s and the very 1st time I raced it with the only change being a set of borrowed slicks it broke into the 12's. 12.90 to be exact. And,,,the slicks were so tall that I ran out the back door in 3rd. What a great car!.......Bill S

Well Bill, I bought my HO Z from the original owner 2 yrs ago, he was racing it at maple grove early on in life with slicks and some tricks up his sleeve changing coil springs, he put his slicks on the original May dated YH rally's and had the screws holes and he also made the valve stem hole larger. I am anxious to drive this for the first time, the engine sounds awesome.

----I bought the LT-1 in Massachusetts and drove it with probably 50 miles on the odo to Florida. Ran at Palm Beach raceway the following week. Never even had the valve covers off or timing adjusted,,,Nothing......Bill S

That's cool. My '70 LT1 Convert has an M21 and 4.11s and while I'm not inclined to race it with the certified original motor, that sounds awesome. They're wonderful cars.
