Just to be safe, I'd install everything and see where the shifter you are using will line up with the tunnel. Unless there is another way, you're just guessing were the hole should be. If you had another Nova with a factory setup to get measurement from, that would be the cats ass ... TAZ

I have seen the measurements posted on Steve's Nova Site...if you visit there someone can help. As I mentioned, the factory sound deadener has a perforated knock out for the floor shifter...this was the same even on column shift cars...if you remove the carpet it should be easy to see.
