Can anybody read the date stenciled on the frame?

There is a mock up at the Corvette Museum pretty similar to this picture.

Looks like 10, 1, 68(or 69) upside down.

10-1-68, I would think.

By October of '69 you'd be into 1970 model year vehicle production.

Could be 10-1-69.
There was a delay in the new 1970 Corvette & Camaro,so they didn't debut till Jan/Feb. 1970.
They had to run these two '69 models longer then usual because of this.
