Ken is probably working on a 66 Chevy. My 1969, 1970 Camaro's, Chevelle's etc are different and don't have the snap ring.

Yes........The early round type mirrors........Also......Keith took one of his 65 Mirrors apart and it had Rivets holding the pressure strap in place...........Mine were Repro's also........So...It worked in my situation, but I guess not in all....
