The National Corvette Restorers Society and Bloomington Gold Corvette judging rules have accepted a "Restoration Engine" since both of their inception. IMHO I feel they understand Corvettes were designed to be "Ran Hard" and most Corvette's engines never Survived the thrashing, so a casting and date code correct engine that has been broached and stamped is O.K. with them. Most Muscle car Guys look down on this as not acceptable. I guess it's all personal preference. I'm just sayin....
