I often wondered how those Vega 390 aluminum blocks got rebuilt if the bores needed to go over standard. The original bore was acid etched to expose the silicon so that the rings didn't wear against the soft aluminum matrix. Mark - do you know if re-etching was an option? Or was sleeving the only option?
