The four digit started in 1972 or 1973.......Eric will know for sure.
An example of a four digit would be 1648.......that's the 164th day of 1978 or 1988 and so on. Sometimes when I take a carb apart, it will have some sort of casting date on the carb and/or metering blocks. It's a circle the a dots on the outside depicting the month (I believe) and the last two numbers of the year in the middle of the circle for example "88" for 1988. Kurt
