Boats used a number, letter, letter suffix a lot of the time.

I wouldn't even know where to look for boat motor suffix codes. But, Jason may be on the money here. Sure looks like a &quot;one&quot; and not the letter &quot;I&quot;.

Definitely not a 1980 casting, as the pad is the large earlier style.
