They should try to find those docs

The COPO order form is a rare document to have.
One of the magazine articles had a picture of the form.
It was not very clear but I sent a copy to Jim Mattison who said he remembered it and had not seen one since he left the GM COPO F&SO dept.

I agree. I think what happened was whoever made off with them did in such a way that nobody really knows who has them. I guess they were a tad naive that whoever did this would keep them safe. I know if I were entrusted with them they would have safe.
