----I can only speak for mid-year Corvettes but suspect that all small-block aluminum intake engines would have been the same. At Classic Motors we bought and sold many, many cars that came to us as original and untouched. Almost all of them showed traces of silver paint on the intakes, mostly along the edge of the intakes and heads. The silver paint actually extended on to the valve-covers in varying amounts.
