Default Question about nos parts

Hi guys.

I am new member to this site but have been reading it for years. Have a couple of questions if anyone can help guide me for purchasing some nos parts for a 69 ss 396 numbers matching car I just purchased. It needs a repaint and while taking it apart found out it needs a core support and bumpers. I found a person in my area that has a ton of nos Camaro parts but wants my to make him a offer on the parts . Can someone give me a idea of where to start on a offer for a nos front, rear bumper and a nos core support.
Thanks in advance
Tim

would not buy NOS bumpers or things like that. Way to much money and not as nice as you think chrome wise. Get yours rechromed or buy the better repops. NOS core supports are out there to but also expensive. I always try to buy good used, sheetmetal, bumpers, core supports interior parts etc. if possible then go from there.

I would offer $600 for the core support. Repro S suck. The whole front end alignment is based on the core support.

As Sammy mentioned...original assembly line parts are always the best choice...you know they will fit. Avoid the repro sheet metal parts if you can.

Is this 1969 Camaro? yr/make/model has a huge determining factor in NOS part value too

I think he is asking if the 69 SS 396 is a Camaro. It could also be a Nova or Chevelle. I think you said the guy had a ton of NOS Camaro parts so I assume it is a Camaro.

X2 on getting your original re-chromed. I bought a NOS bumper for my 68 Nova and it still had the blue rubber on it. I removed the rubber cover when I got home and it had all sorts of foreign material in the chrome. The filtration systems were awful back then. Way better quality control in new chroming processes now a days. After I bought the NOS bumper I had it re-chromed. I had a lot of money in a just one bumper. The guy I bought my bumper from wouldn't let me remove the rubber cover before I bought mine. It's really a roll of the dice.
