Every few months, I encounter something like this on a car forum.

Folks seem to forget the color wheel that they were taught in school. Yellow and green, for the most part, match. So does gold and green.

Hell, think about your clothing - have a shirt that's red and blue? Seems to match for plenty of striped polo shirts I've seen.

Plus one car I can think of, although this leans towards extremes of the two colors:

My very favorite NASCAR racer color scheme of all time. Petty Blue and STP Day Glo Red. From what I've read when the Pettys were first painting either Richard's dad, Lee's, car or Richard's first one they had blue paint and white paint but not enough of either to paint the whole car so mixed the two colors and it came out as what we all know now as Petty Blue. 1972 was the first year Richard had STP sponsorship so they came up with combining their Petty Blue with STP's Day Glo Red on Richard's Plymouth and later Dodge Charger, and the rest is history. I have rarely been interested in NASCAR since Petty retired in 1992 or 1993.
