Default Re: Replacement radial for E70-15 z/28 tire

The very closest size would be 205 70 x 15.

But, you have to remember that these sizes aren't EXACTLY measured, and vary from one manufacturer to another. One manufacturer's 205 section width may measure out to 207mm, while another measures 204mm. Both are closer to 205 than any other 5mm increment that is used as the norm.

Technically, the 205 70 is correct replacement for an E 70.

By the book, the 205 70 x 15 works out to a theoretical overall height of 26.299 inches.

The 215 65 x 15 is a theoretical 26.0039 inches. It is almost a third of an inch shorter, which normally wouldn't be a big deal. But these days, with some many cars having oversize tires that fill up the wheel wells, they may look a little short.
I ran a set on my car back in the 80's and it was OK by me. But, as soon as I put the original spare on the front just to see what it looked like, I knew I wanted the slightly taller tire.

Not sure if there is a white letter one still available.
