Ah, but there lies the rub.......here is a picture of the car's other side that was taken before he left Evanston to the AF base.

Engine compartment when new.

Simple solution.....left side assembly line plant employee made the easy mistake of reading the model number, installed the left side rocker spear and failed to read that this Chevelle was receiving RPO Z25. I bet this mistake was made a few times. Especially with the early built car, such as this Chevelle. Obviously no one caught this mistake and she rolled out the assembly plant. A Great Chevelle that certainly got its nickname early in life.....I would have named her "The Southpaw Spear"
Hey Sam, could this be your former DB L78? Now owned by Grady :-)

That would be so cool, with 9K original miles the history should be easy to figure out:-)

----The picture of this Chevelle shows that it had a newer set of tires on it by this time. Those are Dayton Wide ovals. I used to love the checkered pattern from the stripe out to the outer edge. Cool 69!......Bill S

From what I'm told by the original owner, those pictures are from the first week he owned the car.

----Rick,,,The tires appear to be possibly a size or two bigger than an "F". Maybe that's why the change, but they are definetly Daytons......Bill S

----I should add that I cant quite see the fronts as clearly as the rears, so maybe only the rears were sized up. Being a 375 it would certainly be necessary.
