I understand the nut and bolt resto stuff. I have painstakingly made sure my car is all GM and as original as possible.
But.... I would not go looking for original GM stuff for a clutch. I used many, many Sachs clutches in our Bimmers over the years, with zero failure or clutch chatter. So, I put the SACHS K167510 in my car. No one can see or tell what clutch you have in there. It is available from RockAuto for $84.79. I have abused mine pretty well. Drove the car today, and it is still smooth on the uptake with no chatter, and no slip (even when I had the big tires out back).
