Thanks Steve I will try a heat gun on a spot some where else. I have had 3 reliable sources look at the block and transmission stampings 2 said they were original, one said the engine and trans vin stampings were good but didnt have a original late oct 68 assy date to match it up to.
Pete the last owner pulled the interior and dynomatted the floor and put new carpeting in, I looked but there are no clues. I do know that in July of 69 it was titled in pennsylvania so as soon as the title comes back in my name I can do a title trace in that state. Back to possibly it being a 4 with no leg, there is no such thing as a x44 RS ![]() ![]()
