BTW, the engine actually came out of a Formula. Sadly, it was parted out and sold off. The "N" in the VIN denotes it was a Norwood Assembly Plant engine. Normwood only built Firebirds and Camaros.

As far as the RA vs nonRA codes from above, Boss was confusing the block coding with the carbs. In 71, there were 4 carb #s, manual and auto x RA and nonRA. The TAs were considered nonRA but in a few random documented cases got a RA carb. Probably just a situation were the nonRA carbs were out and they needed to keep the line moving. Not really sure what the functional difference is between the RA and nonRA versions. |
